The Production Manager will manage, coordinate, and lead the activities of a designated business unit responsible for inventory management, sequencing, shipping and receiving and provide operational leadership direction for safety, production, quality and customer issues. Plan, organize and monitor the receiving, sequencing and shipment of materials to meet customer specifications for on-time delivery and quality standards.

  • Consistently communicate guidance and direction to team members
  • Follow scheduling and production directives to support plant operations
  • Coordinate operation activities with production schedules to maximize production efficiencies and achieve customer orders on-time delivery standards
  • Study production schedules and estimate work hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Control direct and indirect labor input and maximize plant inventory
  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production standards
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality standards
  • Execute changes in working conditions to increase efficiency of workflow and work team
  • Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve work problems or operational issues
  • Assist Operations Manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and performance management
  • Plan work schedule and assign duties
  • Confer with Operations Leaders to coordinate efforts among different shifts
  • Initiate and direct continuous improvement activities
  • Institute cost control measures
  • Interpret customer specifications and broadcast schedule
  • Ensure that the facility meets and exceeds customer expectations regarding cleanliness, organization and safety
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with the customer
  • Recommend staffing requirements and assist in the employee selection process
  • Establish, support and maintain positive employee relations and employee involvement
  • Maintain high morale and quality focus among the workforce
  • Support employee recognition programs and administer progressive discipline as appropriate
  • Address customer and associate complaints and concerns; resolve problems
  • Provide appropriate coaching and feedback to maximize employee performance
  • Complete and deliver written performance reviews on a timely basis
  • Motivate, train and develop Operations Leaders toward higher efficiency and skill levels
  • Review, approve and input entries via time and attendance system
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment in compliance with 6S work place organizational standards

  • Conduct safety accident investigations as necessary

Work Environment

This job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The associate is occasionally required to sit or stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in business or related field; high school or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience required in a manufacturing, warehouse or logistics environment.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to use mathematical equations to compute productivity reports
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and proven safety record
  • Knowledge of ISO quality systems
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment
  • Must have strong computer skills and operational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full Time. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.



No travel is required between locations.
