Summary/Objective The plant manager position is responsible for all aspects of business operations. The position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities.

  • Ensure that company and customer requirements are met including safety, productivity, new process introduction, quality and customer service. Oversee and direct communication and problem resolution.
  • Finalize and approve daily plans and workload with operations managers and leadership team to ensure daily goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Develop and implement intermediate and long term operational plans including equipment, staffing needs and process improvements.
  • Ensure all members of the team are aware of safety policies and to provide a clean and safe workplace for employees.
  • Monitor and advise Operations leadership team with regard to operational and strategic decision making.
  • Face to face meetings with customer to ensure satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and applications associated with service operations, maintenance and engineering.
  • Communicate timely information to the Director of Operations, management team and employees.
  • Work with Director of Operations to establish plant level annual operating budgets.
  • Review monthly plant level profit and loss statements and report on any trends or variance outside of published forecasts or averages.
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
  • Monitor and approve expenditures including payroll administration, building maintenance, and request for capital.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and employee programs such as safety, productivity, quality, and employee relations.
  • Partner with Director of Operations and Human Resources to resolve precedent setting decisions, employee issues and concerns, and performance issues on the management team.
  • Partner with Director of Operations and Operations leadership team to ensure consistency of focus and communication.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Motivate all employees and help create a positive work environment.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full Time. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours Is required. Physical presence required in the workplace.

Travel

Travel is primarily local. Occasional travel between locations in North America.

Required Education and Experience

Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in key leadership / management role at service facility
  • Previous experience and strong understanding of budgeting /expense management
  • Previous experience with best practices implementation and use of continuous improvement tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Visio
